President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic

President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic is the head of state of the self-proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), an exile government based in the refugee camps of Tindouf, Algeria. From the declaration of independence on February 27, 1976 to October 16, 1982 SADR's Head of State was known as the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council. The powers of the presidency are extensive, and while they have been subject to modification in various constitutional amendments, the last occurring in 1995, the post of the president has been held by Mohamed Abdelaziz since 1976.
